AS A SURGEON
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1990. Appointed as a Resident in General Surgery at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, he then completed his surgical training in Madrid (Spain) at San Carlos University Hospital, with stays in Barcelona, Geneva (Switzerland), Seattle, Miami and Texas, to learn first hand from the experts in different specialties in Surgery. Upon completion of his surgical training he joined the Texas Endosurgery Institute (TEI), one of the most prestigious centres for laparoscopic surgery in the world, in San Antonio, Texas, where he completed a 2-year Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS).
In 2001 he returned to Spain, and worked at different institutions and hospitals where he organised several meetings and trainings for surgeons, and championed the kick off of minimally invasive techniques at some of these hospitals.

In 2014 he began to work in the UK as he was appointed the Medical DIrector of a big chain of aesthetic clinics, Centros Unico, and he finally relocated to the UK in 2017. Although Centros Unico is no longer in the UK market, the experience gave him the opportunity to know in depth the uniqueness of the aesthetic market in the UK, to meet and interact with the needle movers of this industry, and, eventually, to become one of the reference experts of the sector in the UK.
Dr. Arturo Almeida he has been member of several prestigious societies, like the British Association of Sclerotherapy (BAS), the American Medical Association and the New York Academy of Sciences, and he is a full member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM)”.

There is life beyond Medicine, of course, and Dr. Arturo Almeida’s friends know his vast knowledge on Gastronomy and Wine, as foodie and wine lover as he is. But what a lot of people don’t know about him is that he is a Certified Professional Sommelier and a very well know lecturer and speaker in the subject of Health and Wine.
He’s also a very good swimmer and is a regular participant at open water swimming challenges, He completed in 2021 a Triple 5K swim and he will participate this summer of 2022 in a 10k swimming challenge in Loch Lomond, Scotland.
