ABOUT DR. ARTURO ALMEIDA

Arturo Almeida was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, but his family moved to Spain soon after he was born, so he considers himself Spanish.. He completed his primary and secondary education at different locations in Spain, and he always knew, at an early age, that he wanted to become a medical doctor.

DR. ARTURO AS A SURGEON

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1990. Appointed as a Resident in General Surgery at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, he then completed his surgical training in Madrid (Spain) at San Carlos University Hospital, with stays in Barcelona, Geneva (Switzerland), Seattle, Miami and Texas, to learn first hand from the experts in different specialties in Surgery. Upon completion of his surgical training he joined the Texas Endosurgery Institute (TEI), one of the most prestigious centres for laparoscopic surgery in the world, in San Antonio, Texas, where he completed a 2-year Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS).

In 2001 he returned to Spain, and worked at different institutions and hospitals where he organised several meetings and trainings for surgeons, and championed the kick off of minimally invasive techniques at some of these hospitals.

DR. ARTURO AS AN AESTHETIC DOCTOR

In 2007 started his career in Aesthetic Medicine, first with cosmetic and varicose vein procedures and later with all the range of facial treatments. He learned from the best in Spain, Italy and the USA, completed a Level 7 Masters Degree in Aesthetics in 2009 and opened his first out of 4 clinics in Spain, where he mainly focused on vein treatments, minor cosmetic surgery and fat dissolving injectables.

In 2014 he began to work in the UK as he was appointed the Medical DIrector of a big chain of aesthetic clinics, Centros Unico, and he finally relocated to the UK in 2017. Although Centros Unico is no longer in the UK market, the experience gave him the opportunity to know in depth the uniqueness of the aesthetic market in the UK, to meet and interact with the needle movers of this industry, and, eventually, to become one of the reference experts of the sector in the UK.

Dr. Arturo Almeida he has been member of several prestigious societies, like the British Association of Sclerotherapy (BAS), the American Medical Association and the New York Academy of Sciences, and he is a full member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM)”.

DR. ARTURO AS ENTREPRENEUR AND BUSINESS OWNER

Due to his entrepreneurial spirit and leading skills, he always was fascinated about the business aspects of health care, and in 2005 he completed with honours a MBA degree on HealthCare Management. In 2006 he created his first company, to provide medical and consultancy services, activity that he hasn’t stopped to develop in conjunction with his surgical practice. In Spain he owned 4 clinics, and in the UK he owns 2 companies and has partnerships and joint ventures with several companies globally.

As it’s the case with most entrepreneurs, Arturo Almeida has had his ups and downs, but with each one of this “failures” has come the corresponding learning, which has made him breakthrough from scratch several times. It was natural for him to start sharing his experience as an entrepreneur with other business owners and help them to grow their companies. He currently runs a business coach and consultancy for doctors and clinic owners.
